Where is a good place to get John Deere lawn tractor service m*nual or w*ring di*grams, in general, and specifically for a LX280 lawn tractor?
PTO stopped turning. Thought “not again”, It’s on its 2nd or 3rd PTO. PTO measured 3 ohm, seems fine; but no voltage at the plug with switch on or off.
Thinking it might be switch, but hard to test without diagram. Don’t want to replace parts by just guessing.
Edit #1. Further testing: Switch seems to work ok. Switch has 3 positions (Off -On -Reverse Bypass). Switch has 2 rows of SPDT (N.O./N.C) contacts that operate with the Off-On positions , and 1 row of SPST contact that closes when switch is pulled to the Reverse Bypass position (the blue jumper wire).
Edit#2: Switch tested good because it is good. Plugged everything back together and now PTO works. ???!!
Maybe just the plug in terminals needed cleaning?
...but about those w*ring di*grams?
