Sickle Bar John Deere model 38 sickle bar on 8N

Hi all -

Wondering if anyone has successfully used a Deere model # 39 sickle bar mower on a Ford 8N?

I'm looking to maintain the vegetation (typical bushes / plants / young trees) along the swales on my property, rather than doing it with a 2 stroke brush cutter by hand. Found a #39 sickle mower and parts for sale, but wanted to ask around about it before I drove the couple of hours to look at it.

Appreciate any advice / feedback.

The 8N has 26 hp at the pto IIRC.
I had a 1948 8N and I ran a 5' Woods Brush cutter on it with no problems.
I used to back into palmettos and slowly lower the Woods and chew them all the way to the ground.
It would shake the tractor but didn't stall it.
