John Deere mulching kit for 300 tractor

I have an old but very functional John Deere 300 lawn tractor. I was wondering if a mulching kit was available for this mower? Or would there be a complete mulching mower deck that would fit a JD 300?

As I recall, you could buy a plate that bolted into the end of the lawn mower chute. The blades then did the mulching.

There is a mulcher plate (not sure if available) for the 41 and 48" decks. Go to jdparts.com (free registration) and the model 300, then under attachments for the mower decks. The part numbers are there (a split in the plate for the 48" decks depending on serial number.
