I read it as 701, not "70 I". I can see the I after the model 70 number now.

I'll agree it is a model 70 but think it is custom with a paint job and the added letter I to make it a custom industrial.
I know Deere built some special things for the DOD( army, navy). Could be something like that. BTW I have never seen one or even knew that Deere made industrial lawn and garden tractors. I wonder what the differences are or if it was a creative restoration.
I read the original articles - it's a custom, one-off restoration based on a stock 70. No mystery about it, just some creativity on the part of the owner.
