John Deere stx 38 will not travel forward nor reverse.. Few days prior to this my tire went flat. So I tried driving the mower to my garage and the tire came completely off the rim where my mower would not travel anymore. So I turned the mower off and pushed it the rest of the way. Got a new tire installed and when I started mower and got ready to cut some grass it will not travel in forward not reverse. No belts or pulleys spin when mower is started. When I press down clutch no movement. When I put mower into gear no movement under deck either.. Did I damage something while trying to drive mower with flat tire back to garage? I look at clutch linkage and it has movement up to the transaxle... Scratching my head on this... Any ideas?

Trying to follow your post has me scratching my head trying to follow the logic. Lets see if I get this correct. You removed the rim from the rear axle, and had a new tire installed. then you reinstalled the tire, and now it won't move. So I am thinking you may have lost the square key out of the axle, and now the axle is spinning inside of the rim.
I can't say you are wrong but I will sure as **** check this out. I didn't see a square key though. But that's correct had a flat and removed rim,. Put new tire on and nothing. But wouldn't I still see the pulleys below deck turning? Get back to you in a few with results

And is that square piece only on one side? Because I removed the other side before and never seen that piece. But that square piece was laying off to the side. I actually kicked it out of the way before I started it last time. I had no idea it came from my mower..

A square key on both sides. Sometimes there is enough grease on the key that it doesn't slide out or drop off when removing and installing the wheel to the axle. Glad you are up and running with little extra expense.
