John Deer 5103
I have a 5103 that the instrument panel has shorted out due to moisture. After researching this seems to be a common problem with this model. Since I plan on keeping the tractor and not reselling it I really only care for the temp. gauge to work. I've looked at a few universal temp. gauge kits. Would these work? Any advice from someone that has dealt with this issue before?

A universal temperature gauge would probably work. You can get electric or mechanical. With mechanical the sensor is permanently connected to the gauge and you have to figure out how to route the line without disconnecting anything. If you go for the electrical kind the sensor needs to match the gauge. Either way the sensor needs the proper size and thread pitch to screw into your block to replace the original. (I did it with my Mitsubishi.)
