I am looking to upgrade my JD 4520 ehydro cab tractor. It is a handy tractor but I can't cut or bale hay with it. I use my 5525 for that. I would like to have two tractor that are capable of doing that and running a 15' batwing, etc.
I was very close to pulling the trigger on a 6115d. The 9 speed trans bugs me. Also that it would look funny with a MX-6 behind it instead of a MX-7. Also - none of my buckets, hay forks, etc fit it.
I looked at a used 6420. Nice tractor - big, etc.
Wanted a 5101E - None to be found.
5M - too expensive IMHO.
I am leaning towards a 5093e. Here is my thinking:
I prefer to have a tier 3 emission tractor.
My 5525 with 91hp is doing everything I need today HP wise
I would like a higher reach loader (have the 542SL now). I think the H260 will help some with it.
I would get the H260 with the 5 series carrier - can use the same buckets, hay spears, etc.
Fits on my current trailer. If I go to a 6 series - I don't have a way to haul it.
Don't need 3rd valve on the mid. I have that on my 5525 and I have a compact track loader too.
If I wanted the 5101E, I don't think I will miss 8 HP with the 5093e
I am waiting for pricing, but it looks like right at $50K for a 5093e with loader.
Seems like it is the right size. Put some weights on the rears.
I guess I forgot to list all we do. Cut and bale our own hay here on the ranch. 4 x 6 round bales. Run a batwing, pull a spray, harrow, some discing, 6' wide shredder, etc.
Comments?
Thanks,
D.
