Okay
I am in the market for a compact tracpor, I have looked at new holland TCB 48 hst and the 4320 and 4520 John deerer, Both with FEL

Both look like good tractors, price point better on the NH so which
is it Green or BLUE .

Thanks in advance for your info,

Murph said it well, it is totally up to you. Either of your choices would be the right one for some people and Either would be the wrong choice for someone else. I do not think you can go wrong choosing either if you have good dealer support. Which will you be happy with after you crawl off from a long day of seat time. I like the tractors you are looking and chose another color.

1st of all let me welcome you the forum /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif and 2nd you are right , they are both very nice tractors. HAVE you actually tried each of them out? Do YOU have better feel for one rather than the other? seems you are pretty much settled on either of those 2 tractors , so now the decesion is totaly up to you, ALONG WITH THE BILL /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The TC 48 is not available in HST. The only transmission for the TC48 is the 12 x 12 Synchro Shuttle Shift (SSS) transmission. The 12 x 12 Electro-Hydraulic Shuttle Shift (EHSS) transmission is optional on the TC55DA (FWD only).

I think you should read some of the threads in the New Holland forum which discuss some of the problems this new model is experiencing and what NH has done or not done to address them.

So far i`ve not had problems with my TC48DA. The problems I`ve read about are with the TC55. Even though both units have the same chasis and engine there are some differences, one being hydraulic pump rates

You should also Consider other brands. Kioti, Kubota, Branson, etc....

If the price point is lower on the NH, I would personally go with the TC48 for the following reasons:
3-pt lift capacity is 3465 vs Deere=2500
FEL lift capacity is 2500 vs Deere=2360
Shipping weight is 538 lbs greater
Have you opened the hood yet on the 4020?
The small things: tilt/telescoping steering, flex link ends (opt on Deere), 12 volt power socket, 4 headlights vs 2, Visibility, serviceability

Hope this helps.

In the size range you are considering, I would only consider the following brands (in alphabetical order so as not to induce bias):

Case
Deere
Massey
New Holland

These 4 brands have their tractors tested and certified by the independant testing board in Nebraska. The testing proves the tractors will perform to the standards you expect. My understanding is Branson, Century, Kioti, Kubtoa and Mahindra do not submit their tractors for testing and cannot legally even sell large tractors in Nebraska. While I could care less what Nebraska does with tractor sales, I do trust their independant testing and it sets the standards by which all large tractors must be judged.
