JohnDeere 3050 gear linkage problem

Hello,

My brother has a John Deere 3050 which has a gearbox / gear linkage problem. The tractor slips out of second gear and at the same time the gear linkage which is a round bar comes out of the gearbox. What could be the cause of this? If you require any additional information then I will try to get it.
