Another question about my 'new' Satoh Beaver. It has a Johnson Workhorse 10 FEL which has the traditional two lever loader control (it has downpressure etc)

Anyhow, on to my question. I have an increasing leak in the valve/levers control box (dont really know what it is called) which leads me to believe I have blown an O ring or damaged a valve. It seems to be getting worse, even when I dont use the loader - as the hydraulics are live. How do I open up the valve body? there are two levers, and four quick connect lines coming out of the top. I see no obvious bolts to take the thing apart.

This is my first compact with a loader, so I am new to hydraulics.

Steve,
It is a loader control valve. I would guess that an o-ring is out on one of your spools. If you follow the control handle down, it should connect at two points. One of them, is a pivot point so that the spool can go in and out straight. The other point is the place where the handle connects to the spool. The spool should be retained by plate with two Allen screws holding it on. Let me know, if have found all of these parts. Then we can go from there.

Thank you for the help. As I look at the thing, I see two pistons attached to the pivoting levers that move in an out. As a former trumpet player, I assume these pistons have 'holes' in them to allow the hyd fluid to pass up through the desired hose.

So I have located the parts you describe - where would the O ring be located?

If it helps for background info, I have been moving a lot of sand and noticed that I only get about 300lbs lift before there is a whining - reminds me of the sound a hydrostatic tranny makes when laboring.

Thanks again for the help!
