Jinma 204, Mahindra 2816, Prowler mini skidsteer
Ordered the 48" brush mower for our mini skidsteer. Was going to get the 45" one but the guy my partner talked to said the 48" would be better for us, heavier built, etc.
We have a small mowing/landscaping/tree business and we think this will be just the piece of equipment we need to compliment our tractor with brush hog. We can get to alot of places that are steeper safer with the tracked mini.
I appreciate all your answers below.
I'll let you know how we make out with it.
And I can bring it to our house in upstate NY and clear our 30 acres!

I don't see a brush mower in PT's list of attachments for other equipment. Are you adapting a PT specific brush mower for your mini skid steer?

It's made for Power Trac. We'll need to weld a plate on it that fits our mini.

Well then, you will be required to take pictures and post... Just the rules of the family ;-)

If that's the 48" model made for the PT-425 (T8), you should take a good look at
this thread.

Is that 30 acres all brush, and if you are talking saplings, how big in diameter?

I also have a new Mahindra 2816 with brush hog for the flatter land. It has a 6" Wallenstein chipper on it.
I'm not worried about taking down small trees with the Power Trac brush mower, I have chain saws and chippers for that. It will or should be great for tall weeds and 1/2"-1" saplings I would think.
Hoping to tackle the steeper areas of our jobs and smaller jobs. Easier to load the mini then the tractor. Lots of wild rose bushes.
I'll read that thread later, thank you.

Randy,
I use the 48'' brush hog with my Gehl loader. It is articulated, like the PowerTrac.
You may have to change the rear wheels on the brush hog when using it on a skid steer.
Seems like the fixed wheel design will dig in and eventually break. I changed mine to a swivel caster setup, but for other reasons. Maybe, it would be a good idea to try yours out first before you weld the mount permanently. It may be that you will have to change the mount to accomodate any wheel change, inorder to clear the front of the loader.
Regardless of what changes you have to make, it can be done and I think you will be satisfied with your purchase.

I will take a couple of pictures this coming weekend with the brush mower installed.
