Joy Stick Cover for MF 2350 FEL

I noticed that MF has now started putting a hard plastic cover over the Joy Stick on the 2350 FEL. The only purpose that I can think of for this cover is to protect the boot. Has any one purchased one of the covers and if so, how much did it cost?

Morning Carl. I don't know what it is for. I haven't seen it. I do see where is could be a good thing to prevent weathering of the boot.

Hi Jerry.

I think perhaps MF has been listening to consumers comments, complaints, and suggestions, and are perfecting the product as they go along. About the only thing I can think they could add is a power port and arm rests. Of course I'm sure they are trying to keep costs down for the obvious reasons. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I think the cover was added simply to clean the valve up a little by hiding all the fittings and hose connections. It looks better on than off.

UPDATE

I have just been informed that the Joy Stick cover is on indefinate backorder. (whatever that means)

The price, when available, is around $30

Another Update...

The joystick/loader valve cover came in today. I guess indefinately wasn't that long at all. Unfortunately, according to the guy that ordered it for me, the mounting brackets are not available so it looks like I will have to make my own.

The part number is SL103216 and is described as a MF1520 Loader Valve Cover.

I had to drill the top two holes for the screw-in hoses and after installing it and seeing how well it fit, I didn't even worry about making a bracket to hold it on because the only way to get it off is to remove the hydraulic fittings.

I was at my dealer today getting oil and filter for my 150 hour change on my GC2310. Went out to look at the new models and still can't fiqure out why the third hose for backhoe. Also noticed the outrigger pads are different and the bucket had some extra reinforcement on edges. Price tag was also higher.

I was told that the third line on the backhoe was to provide more fluid so things could move a little faster. I don't know if that was the real reason, but it made sense.
