I just bought a log splitter and to save money I just extended the hose to reach my mid-hydraulic control (the only one). I have a JD 5220 with a 4in1 bucket. There are 4 hoses to the valve with the bucket so my thought was that I could leave two for lifting the bucket and use the other two connections for the splitter. This works but someone stills has to hold the joystick over to enable the control at the splitter - a real pain. And to make it more of a pain, if the splitter goes all the way to the top of its throw, it reverses, but sometimes reverses again - frustrating (I think the result of 2 controls in the system)
I'm sure I can put a remote valve configuration on some kind on the back, but I'm guessing the cost will be high. Can I get some ideas?
I do note that the mid-hydraulic valve unit has some big hex bolts on the side - an chance these are extra ports that I could buy some quick connector couplers to insert?
