I have a John Deere 2630 with a 146 Loader. The loader uses the 2 handle system. One controls the up/down the other the bucket roll. I have seen joystick remotes on the same setup. Where do I start my search for parts?

Do I need to replace the valves or can I add the joystick with cables?

Take a look through this thread from the beginning. I think you'll find lots of answers and info there! :)

For the price, You can't beat this Joystick Valve. You will spend twice as much in money and time trying to add a cable operated unit.

Does anyone have a pic of the joystick that KennyD has picked out. I mean a pic of it mounted and in use?

I have that joystick on my homemade Cub Cadet loader. The valve itself has been working perfectly however the Joystick has broken twice. The first time it broke the little triangular plate that holds everything together stripped out because it was made of aluminum. I made a new one out of steel and it has been holding up well (see Red arrow in pic). Now, the little ball joints keep coming apart (see Blue arrow). I am waiting on some new better rod ends that I ordered that should fix that problem.

I would start by checking if your current loader valve can be controled by cables. If so, then I would find which JD loaders use a joystick and cables and see what it would take to adapt to your valve.

My JD 245 loader uses a joystick to control the loader valve.
