Hello all,
I have an HST30 with FEL and BH. A couple of weeks ago I was hopping off the tractor and my shorts caught the joystick for the FEL. It flopped over like a broken limb /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif Anyway, after taking it apart I discovered I had broke the stick yoke off of the 3 lever posts causing damage to the plastic balls. Ordered replacement parts and I'm trying to reassemble but cannot figure out how to get the yoke back on the plastic balls of the levers....I can get 2 but not the 3rd. One of the pins is fixed in postion as a pivot point I believe, whereas the other 2 are connected by cable to the hydraulic assembly. Any ideas or tricks to reassembling these?? Any help, greatly appreciated...oh, and by the way, be careful wearing shorts while doing tractor work!

We have done a few of them. Its kinda hard to explain how to fix. I believe we ended up getting all the towers with the plastic balls lifted up and then dropped them down into the housing. The one looks fixed but it should be able to be removed, lifted up, put all the towers in the L shaped receiver that the handle screws into, then lower the whole thing back down in the housing. I think we had to take the cables completely loose; it was kinda tricky the first one we did. Its almost a “have to show you type deal” because explaining it is tricky. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Let me know if that helped at all. If not I'll see if I can take a look at one and explain it better. Might help if I wasn't typing this at 1 in the morning too... /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif boy its been a long day.. I'm headed to BED!.....

After having my CK 30hst a few months, I've learned to get on and off the tractor like a horse. From the left side. I would bump the joystick every time. I just have to be careful of the range shift lever. On of the members turned in the seat while on a hill and bumped it into neutral. Luckily, his wild ride ended with no mishaps. My lever doesn't move that easy which I guess is good.
Sorry, can't help you with the reassembly. Never had to fix mine and now I'm not looking forward to the day. The explanation from Jon sounds like it's fun. One of the nice things about TBN is that members and dealers will share their knowledge with others.
Good luck on the repair. Sounds like you almost have it.

Well I figured it out and it turned out not to be too difficult. I had to unhook the cables from the hydraulic assembly which then allowed the levers to be pulled up through the housing they sit in high enough to place the pivot lever in. Then I slid the yoke assembly with all three levers back into the housing. The cables to the two functional pin levers need to remain attatched to the pin levers. Overall, not that bad but nonetheless, don't want to have to do it again. Think I'll exit to the left from now on...those plastic balls aren't the only ones that could be damaged if you know what I mean...thanks for the help guys!
