2013 LS R4041
I have to complain to you all because the wife doesn't want to hear it. Every time I perform regular service on the R4041 I got so irritated with the LS engineers. Why put the oil fill in the back of the engine compartment under the muffler when it could have just as easily been up front and there had to be a better place to put the fuel filter. I hope on the newer models they have made some changes to make services a little less of a pain in the ass.

The grief is understandable. Have you tried a flexible funnel?

That is what I use but even with a flexible funnel you still have to disconnect the hood strut to get a jug of oil under there and pour it in.

I don’t know about the R4041 engine, but my g 3033 engine has the filler cap on the rear top, which necessitates removing the hood strut, but also a lower front fill with a rubber plug, for easier access when adding oil

Branson Cummins licensed engines and Yanmar, at least the ones I have have 2 places for oil filling....one on the top of the valve cover and the second on the right, front side of the engine, obviously to preclude problems associated with external parts blocking access.

I'll have to check on that. TY for the advice

This is a Mitsubishi but I will check for the second fill point. TY

I have the Mitsubishi engine and it does have a front fill point, its under a black rubber cap (almost looks like a power steering pump) I think mine is on the left side though? Oil fill takes a long time thru that spot (have to pour oil slowly!)

For terrible to reach fill ports (or instead of fighting a jug under the hood) can you use a hand transfer pump with a flexible hose? I use one to refill my hydro after a service on my GC1720. The fill port barely protrudes beyond the rear body work so getting the 5 gal pail or even a jug and funnel to stay put is not worth the hassle. So I leave the pail on the ground and pump it up to the fill port with a $10 pump.
