Just bought a new 2550...

Hello all:

Been lurking a while and finally have something to write about. Bought a CC2550 this weekend. Darn nice machine. Quick question though. In the hour meter, to the left hand side is a flashing icon which looks like two triangles pointing at each other. What is this? I find no mention of it in the manual.

that is an hourglass, indicating your hour meter is working.

I’ve been wondering the same thing on my GT 2544. I thought something was wrong, but I guess that it’s the reverse override switch. Tomorrow, if its not raining or too wet, I’m going and try to cut my grass, so then I can see if its the override switch, or something else. It may be the hour glass, sure wish that they had explained this in the manual.

I'll have to double check that now. I don't believe it's the reverse overide switch, as it's flashing when the key is in normal mode or reverse over ride. Basically on and flashing anytime the machine is running.

Right now I will go with the post that says it shows that the hour meter is running.

Anyone else chime in on this?

GAMBLE77 You're the Cub Cadet man, see if you can found out for us. Hour Glass or Override switch? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif But this is normal.

If it's in the hour meter display, it is the hour glass.

I have had my GT2550 since March and I believe that it is the hourglass. When you first turn the key on, it indicates the voltage of your battery, but once started it switches over to an hour meter.

Was wondering the same thing and as others, went all through the owners manual looking for the symbol.

It makes sense now.
