TC24DA
Just bought it a few hours ago!!! Tractor, loader, 60" mmm, 48" Woods bh, rear light, hooks on bucket, Brush guard, $17250. Is that a good price? Also, I have a question on tires. I dont know wether to get the turf or industrial tires. The tractor will be used mostly for mowing. How are the industrial tires for mowing. I need to let the dealer know Monday what tires I need. Ill send picks when I get it!!!

On a tractor that size R4's will be fine for mowing. They will also be much better for the loader, brush hog and backhoe type work. Turfs have almost no traction once the tread loads up when working in loose soil or mud..

Welcome to TBN.

As far as pricing, it has a lot to do with the area you live in. Fill out your profile and some of the guys in your area can give you a good idea on how you did price wise.

Tires, I have the R4's on my TC29D for mowing and they do fine. Just have to watch it some on the wetter days. You will have to do that anyway with either tire.

Congratulations on your purchase.

I use a TC24D primarily for mowing and light tractoring. I have the R4 tires on it and it does NOT tear up my yard. I have a heavy clay base under my grass and find that I cannot drive on saturated ground because I will leave small ruts, but that is also true with my little Cub Cadet. The R4's, even on wet sod, do a good job of leaving the sod where it belongs.

Sounds like you did OK to me. I purchased a 24D back in June for about $250 less, but I only got a 48" KK BH and I later paid $50 to have the hooks welded on. I also added my own light to the rear. My $17k was out the door - tax and everything. You didn't say if you got the Rear dishcharge MMM or the side discharge. I got the rear wish if I remember correctly was just a touch more expensive.

As far as tires go I have the R4s. Normal mowing jobs they do fine. Haven't noticed any significant ruts during mowing. I normally take the FEL off though since it takes all of about 2 minutes. Today I had some serious weight on the tractor and I was in 4wd and it is extremely wet around as the soil is still kinda thawing out so I didn't notice some marks. Nothing that a little roller won't take care of though. Here is a picture of what I had on the front of the loader today. That is 2 bundle of shingles on the end of that pole if you can't tell. I also had the KK on the back with 6 concrete blocks for counter balance.

What would be a guess of the weight at the bucket of your tractor. That is a long way out and kind of heavy.I guess you were going to place them on a roof?

I was placing them up to the roof of the pole barn I'm building. I have no idea what the weight at the bucket would be. I know the first time I tried to lift it up I didn't have the bucket curled enough and it wouldn't curl and I had maxed the height out. I set it back to the ground curled the bucket without any tension on the chains and lifted again. This time w/o any problems. 2 was about all the little guys could muster - but that is 2 more then I was gonna be able to muster. Save a lot of running up and down the ladder.

BTW, using this same setup is how I set my trusses for my barn. It is 30X48.There were a total of 25 trusses.

na I could have got it for you 8 grand cheaper. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif At this stage it doesn't matter what you paid cause you will always hear of someone that got one cheaper. If you are happy with it and feel that you did good don't second guess it. hope you enjoy it and keep us informed. There are LOTS of good ideas here. It keeps me busy just trying to keep up making all the usefull attachments I learn about that I don't get much time to use them all.

I forgot I paid for my Grill Guard "extra" because I asked for it and the block heater after the "deal" was already made. So sounds like you did more then OK by my standard as that price was the best that I could do around here, esp. considering you got the Woods and I only got the KK.

Thanks for the reply's. Great forum!! Im from Ohio as you will see in my updated profile. You all have made up my mind to choose the R4's!!! And yes, it is a rear discharge mmm which is supposedly a $100 more than the side discharge. Thanks again!!!
