Remember, taller tire changes effective gearing. It throws the Speedometer and odometer off. And your computer mileage indicator. That, will throw off your gas mileage calculations. And, it will make 75mph on the speedometer more like 75-80mph...

Yeah, I calculated it with a GPS and the pump. The diesel didn't seem to really notice the larger tires at all. I put largers tires on my 05 F-150 and I REALLY felt it and so did the economy to the tune of 3-4 mpg.

My 2001 Duramax 2500HD LT crew cab 4x4 just turned over 70K and it looks and runs as new, however I must admit I've babied, powdered and diapered it with kid gloves since new. It's just now getting broke in, and I plan to keep it until one of us dies. I love this diesel (my first in a pickup) and would never go back to a gas truck engine, once used to it you'll love it.
That Cummins is a fine engine, and will run a loooong time with proper maintenance. If it's been halfway taken care of, 75K is nothing. Best of luck with it.

Just thought I would give a little update. I have put 3-4k miles on the truck since I have got it and have had zero problems.(knock on wood). So far I am very satisfied with it and have got used to the harsher ride. I have added/done a few things to it.
I added a Prodigy 2 brake controller. Works nice, but doesn't seem that much better than the $50 cheapo I had in my Armada. But I got it for $100 so I can't complain much, it does have alot more adjustment and capability. Doesn't get as much use in this truck as the one in my last due to the factory jake brake.
I added the N-fab modular side steps. These normally go for around $600 bucks shipped, but I got them for $360 and I love them and they look fantastic on the truck (I wanted something different). They are rock solid and the way the tube is positioned, hides the frame rails and such that normally hangs under. These were my best investment thus far, no more busted shins trying to jump in this thing to put my little girl in her car seat.
Huskyliner WeatherBeater mats. These are different than the old diamond plate style regular mats, they fit like a glove and work perfect. I think they were $115 or so for front and back.
Tractor Supply black powdercoated toolbox. Nice box for $260, it isn't in the pics because I had it out while I was doing the DIY bedliner.
Also ordered a Draw-Tite hide-a-goose hitch. I got it most of the way installed, but the head didn't fit just right, the holes didn't line up. I finally gave up and took it all back off and checked all my part numbers and after researching online found out my cross rails were for a chevy. Sent it back on their dime and am waiting for my correct Dodge hitch. But installing the hitch is realitively easy for one person I think.
Also added a few things I didn't have to have but I wanted. My last two trucks had awesome factory sound systems, this one sucked. I put in a double din size Pioneer unit that fit perfectly after replacing the factory dash bezel with a factory Dodge Navigation panel like out of a Laramie. Looks factory, sounds much better, has bluetooth handless feature, and does all types of other cool stuff I don't need. I replaced the door speakers with Clarion units, and added a subwoofer and amplifier under the rear seat. Out of sight. I got all this stuff on clearance except the dash bezel, so I got over $1000 worth of audio stuff for less than half that. Understand I really love my music, so now it is like riding in a concert hall rather than listening on a transistor radio. lol.
Performance wise, the truck does an awesome job of pulling my 10,000lb give or take tractor load. There is a long, rather steep grade I have to make when I travel to my land about 45 Min away. My old trucks had to kick down two gears, but the dodge will accelerate up the hill pulling the load, also with about 800lbs of Polaris Sportsman in the bed with some other stuff. While only pulling 1500rpm. :thumbsup: Since I took this picture I got a good drop down hitch, that lowered the trailer to level and really help with how good it pulls. No weight distb hitch yet, just conventional pulling and it did fine, no sway or anything with a good hitch weight. So far I am really glad I decided to get it. And with a good mix of city driving, and pulling the trailer loaded I get around 14mpg.
And before the towing police show up, I wasn't thru strapping it down when I snapped the pics. :laughing:

NICE TRUCK. I love my diesel! Tows my trailer like it's not there. Too bad diesel taxes are so much higher than gasoline. Otherwise, diesel would be so much cheaper here. Enjoy the truck.

Not so sure about the 05 Dmax. 06 and 07 Classic were the best years. I had a 05 and missed it by a year, well the rest you already heard about. Something like a million times now.
Really though, the 06 and 07 Classic, pre dpf, got a 6 speed Tranny versus the 5 speed I had in my 05. Also more HP/TQ. They also got a much better intake which fixed the overheating issues, larger radiator also I believe, and some other smaller changes. 05 was probably the low point of the Dmax run.

Also, the 2003 ford is not the most desirable since it had the powdered rods. You really want the 2000 model year with 7.3 and forged rods. 2000-2003 is a better range.
Love the dodge but am even more jealous of your grapple and mower for the Bobcat CK30, I wish my Kioti was equipped the same way.
