Just delivered my CC GT2544!

Hey there all, I have just received delivery of my new Cub 2544. So far I am totally impressed with it, and I haven't even cut my lawn yet.

It may be a bit more than what I need, however, I would rather have more of a machine than less of a machine. Who knows what I might need it for in the future.

The dealer experience was excellent.

I did a good amount of research on this site an others before I made up my mind ultimately on the 2544. I did think about the 2542 at first, but I think the extra $400 for the 2544 was well worth it.

I will do my best to ensure that my Cub lasts a long long time.

Congrats on the purchase! Nice tractor isn't it? I got mine about 3 months ago and have really enjoyed it thus far.

The biggest plus (IMO) of the 2544 over the 2542 is the extra depth on the cutting deck. Makes a big difference in the ability to cut taller grass and gives more lift to the grass blades.

Yeah the deeper deck was one of my main reasons too.

I can't always go out and cut the lawn twice a week, so the grass tends to grow really fast after a couple days rain, just like it is now. So that should come in handy.

I might have to go check out some of the accessories (15 cu ft cart) in the near future too. We will see though.

I'm trying to talk my neighbor in to selling me his 17 cu ft Rubbermaid cart for $150, but no luck so far...

I'm North of you in Essexville (by Bay City). We've had LOTS of rain lately, and boy am i glad I have a rider now!!!

Purchased my 2544 in April it is an 05 model, have already put 45 hrs on it since April. Am very satisfied with my purchase. Have a 10cf dump cart I use very often.

Welcome Mark! The 44" deck is nice and you made a wise choice. I have the 42" deck and it cuts well just needs to be deeper. Congratulations on the new Cub.

My first cut on Saturday went extremely well.

It had been 10 days since it had been cut, so it was pretty long. And I cut it in the morning, so there was still some morning dew in there.

Because of it being so long, and the dew, it clumped very slightly, but certainly nothing unexpected. It definitely didn't bog down at all. The cut was even, after I figured out the best height for the cut. The first row was just a little bit short.

It reduced the cutting time down by about 50%. Now I need to get a new blower, since my handy Craftsman (blah) siezed up last year, after only 3 years of sporadic use.

Are you getting a blower for the GT?

I lived in the UP until 10 years ago. Had three back to back blizzards in the Sault. That was it for me. They don't even know what a snow blower is down here!
