just got a heck of a deal on implements

I just bought 5 implements for $700. The former owner sold his place and is moving to town. I got:

3pt 12' rotary hoe
10' pull type tandem disc with new tires and hyd cylinder
8' john deere wheat drill
14' john deere wheat drill
6' Hoeme plow pull type with new tires, and extra sweeps

I would say thats a "heck" of a deal. I hope for his sake he didn't advertise that, he'll be getting calls for weeks.

Well the guy had them listed in the local paper. He had no prices listed. The paper also had the wrong phone number listed. I called the paper and got the right number, and bingo I was the first caller. He was asking $450 for each drill, $450 for the disc, $100 for the hoeme, $200 for the rotary. I asked him how much for all. He said $800 because he wanted to get rid of it because he was moving and he had not had a single call yet. I offered him $700 and he took it. This guy had a probably $300,000 place. To me it seemed it was more of a hassle for him to get rid of them than the money.

I plan on selling one of the drills, for $450 and ending up with the other four implents for $250.

Man.. nice.. that disc alone was worth twice what you paid for the whole package.

I need to get a decent disc one day.. something for my Nh 7610s to pull.

Here are some pics.

This is the Hoeme Plow. It is actually 7'. Has two brand new tires and wheels as well as new chisel points and sweeps.

Here is the Tandem. It is 10' and is a a international. Bearings are all good , has one broken disc on the end.

Here is the rotary hoe. I measured it and it is 15'. Not sure what I am going to do with it but it was thrown in the deal.
