Just got a refund back from our propane supplier

We just got a letter from our propane supplier.

We had to buy propane during last winters price gouging period.
The letter stated that a $115 credit would be applied to our account.
It seems that we bought about $350 of propane last winter during the height of the "panic"

The letter was worded, "to our valued customers." etc.. but I think there might have been some
state investigation pressure.. Not sure. Anyone else get anything like this?

Its good to know that if there was gouging that there may be some accountability. I've not heard from my propane supplier but I really don't use much and I don't know what I paid compared to you.

I cant remember for certain, but I think we paid just a little over $4 a gallon. We don't use it for primary heat, just the Mother in law downstairs for the cook-stove and a small auxiliary heater for her. But that was the most we ever paid. I was rather surprised to see a refund.

I got the same letter, but my credit is for $15 IIRC. I just use propane for cooking gas. I had the same thought you did. Somebody threatened Amerigas, they didn't just do it to be a good neighbor.

I know the Attorney General's office in Missouri and Kansas were investigating the propane prices. Suspected of price gouging. This refund could be a result of the ongoing investigations. Kinda funny how the media always blows these things up and then when it's old news they just forget about it. I personally have not seen a refund in Kansas and don't really expect to. But we will see.

Yeah, I suspect they got a threatening letter from the AG's office before they sent out their "we love you" letter to us poor slobs that got "robbed"

Hopefully our provincial gov,t in Eastern Ontario will look into the scam that happened here this winter as well.
It,s a shame what some businesses will do for extra profit, especially when they already have their customers bent over the barrel.

Yes - and the oil companies are no different either, probably worse.
