I have a little ultralight weed eater brand weedeater. I have had it for 8 yrs or so. It had been sitting in a shed with gas (with stabil) in it since last fall.
got it out 2 days ago and it started on second pull and ran like a champ.
:)

I have a beasty Husqvarnarna 225R weed eater that is nearly impossible to start no matter what you do to it.

Perhaps I should go find an elcheapo version :D

But I like the Husqy when he gets running :)

That's odd. I have a Husky 225 that starts on the third pull every time. It's about 18 years old and has over-wintered with stale gas in it more often than it has not.

Flip the blue choke button and pull rope until it starts. If it dies when you hit the trigger, make sure the choke flipped off when you hit the trigger then pull the rope without choke or accelerator. It should start and idle just right.

Wasn't Weedeater brand the first string trimmer on the market? I bought an electric one sometime between 30 and 35 years ago; don't recall any gasoline versions even in existence back then. I was happy with that electric Weedeater (city lot in town) for several years, but when it finally died, I went shopping for a gas model. One of the biggest lawn & garden dealers in Dallas sold Weedeater, but also sold several other brands, including Echo. He recommended staying away from the Weedeater brand gas models back then; took me in the back and showed me that they had about 20 of them waiting to be repaired and only 2 or 3 other brands in need of repair. I finally bought a Ryan. And of course, there's undoubtedly been some major changes in later years with all the brands, including Weedeater. They must be doing something right if they were the first and are still around.

Yeah I have a couple of bigger ones too. however with my bad back this little trimmer is perfect for me to do yard trimming with. The bigger ones are faster but I cannot do as much with them because of my back giving out sooner from the extra weight and rotary inertia.

Not big enough for heavier stuff though.

I find it will not start at all with the choke lever pressed down. I have to press it down then flick it back up.

When it finally starts this way with some easy start you go to pull the trigger and the choke clicks off and it is fine.

I will try starting it with the choke lever down.
