Just joined the club! A new red Valentine's present.

Hi all!
I'm new to the forum here. Just bought my first tractor, for use on the 5 acres that my wife and I just bought. Local dealer (Stanwood, WA) just gave us what I think is a great deal:

New 2007 GC2310 TLB (demo with 5 hours on the clock - full warranty)
New Woods RCC42 42" Brush hog
Mechanical thumb for BH (including installation)
Canopy (including installation)

Out the door at $16,500 - I think we did pretty well!

I grew up on a farm, driving first a Farmall "A", later a John Deere "M", and most recently a John Deere 2040. This little Massey seems pretty tiny in comparison, but will be perfect in size for landscaping, cutting trails in our woods, plowing snow, etc.

So far I've gleaned lots of information from you good folks on the forum, hopefully now I can "de-lurk" and contribute something too!

I'll take some pics when the little beast arrives on Monday. Implicit with the arrival of the tractor is, of course, the promise that I'll now be helping more with yard/landscaping work. With a toy like this, who wouldn't?

Exactly. You can go nuts on chores, and it also gives you an excuse to buy more toys for the main toy.

No no no, no toys, just tools and machinery to WORK with. How do you think that we get all these toys, ah, tools to work with. It's not because we call them toys and we play with them. It's because we need all these tools, (tractors, implements & attachments) to do all the WORK that our wives want us to do. Lets remember guys, we are working here.

Kudos on a great deal on a great tractor.

I smile with every chore that I have done since getting our GC2310 last year. The first project I took on was rebuilding a rock wall that required moving some *very* large rocks, digging out several stumps, then replacing the rocks. I spent just about every weekend (and a few vacation days) last summer working outdoors and thoroughly enjoyed every minute.

I guess one minor downside is that I feel like I have abandoned my Harley, which has also given me many years and many miles of cruising fun....

We'll look forward to seeing pictures of your red gem.
