Hi folks,
My name is Devon Stavrowsky. I use the handle UpLateAgain mostly because I have used that handle posting on a number of other sites and just gotten used to it.
I am a retired law enforcement officer from California, moved to Colorado onto a place I spent my career paying off. Though somewhat mechanically inclined, I'm new to ranching and farming, and learning every day. I have three tractors, a Zetor C42L (which I have come to understand was manufactured by Kukje in Korea under contract to Branson for Zetor, and is the same tractor as a Century C42L or a Branson 4220), an older 24 horse Massey, and a 9N.
I've had the Massey for about 20 years, and replaced the clutch and steering gear and hydraulic lines, but otherwise have had no trouble with. The Zetor is four to five years old, and until last week, had been completely trouble free...., and an amazing bargain as far as I am concerned. I have to admit I have been anything but gentle with it, and it just keeps on taking the punishment and delivering on the goods. I bought it new out the door for 17.
Last week, the right side tie rod end-link busted on me (a relatively common occurrence with that model I have come to understand), and checked out this blog to find out about it. I now have the 'upgrade' front end parts I need coming, and hopefully in another few days I'll be back to the blissful enjoyment of beating up the tractor.
The 9N seems to have jumped time. Once I get the Zetor up again, I'll go to work on the Ford.
