I just got in the house from mowing for the first time with my 2720 /w 62 inch deck. Before I mowed I pushed 6 cedar post into the ground, and put three buckets of manure in the garden. I then decided to mow...first let me explain. I have about 4 acers to mow...but I have previously had horses with a field I mowed about twice a year. The field had no horses in it last year and I mowed it twice last year with my 4100 w/54 inch mower deck. I pulled the fence up and now I stare at my huge lawn. I work about 60 hours a week and have two days that I can mow. Sometimes do to the weather I miss a week and you can almost hear my lawn growing...so that makes a big mowing job when I get to it. I went at the whole lawn..(first time this year) and the field . When I had my 4100 it bogged down and evan stalled sometime in heavy grass (I know my fault) When I was mowing tonight I had a smile on my face the whole time...wow...this thing really is a machine..I can't be happier. In thick heavy grass that hasnt been mowed in a year...It didnt miss a beat...I like this tractor more and more evrey day!

It's good to hear that you are finding peace with your new tractor. It is very hard for working folks to spend that much money, and have remorse about it. Now that you are using it, all the reasons for buying it are there, and I'm sure you will be very happy over the years with your choice!

Good for you!! :D

Here's to many more year's of "stress reduction" out there on your 2720 in the middle of a big field of GRASS!

I told you Brian, the 2720 is a little beast. I'm moving rocks with my front loader that I couldn't budge with the 2320. Forget what the specs say you have to use a machine to know it.

Brian,
We also got the 62'' belly mount deck and you are right - our 2720 is awesome for mowing. It honestly cut our mowing time down, by 3 hours. Glad to hear you like yours also!

Dagonnit, Brian, I wish you stop telling us all this good stuff about your 2720. I am just now starting to get my 2520 all tweaked and accessorized just the way I want it, and now you're making me want to go trade it in.

Seriously, glad to hear it's working out for you. JD makes some darn good tractors.

I don't think you would need to upgrade from a 2520......there to close a tractor...I really do love mine though..will never upgrade again..lol
