I removed my loader the other day to do the 50 hour maint, and i noticed some minor scratching happening on the gray engine cover and the hood on the side that has the hoses.

After i reinstalled the loader, i watched as i raised it to full height and lowered it to the ground... guess what. The hoses are rubbing on the metal.

This sucks. I tried ziptying the lines, but they need too much travel and movement. The zip ties snapped.

Guess its time to put on my old thinking hat. I cant leave it like this. if theres already scratches after 2 months...what will it look like in 2 years.

Like a used tractor. I mean what are you worried about? The scratched paint or the rubber lines?
I don't think they rub on mine but I'll look again. I guess that if the lines are rubbing it would be a design issue or maybe they are too long or something.

I suppose a bungee cord might work.

I'm of the same mind as 02batsea--scratches will happen. Gives a tractor a nice personality and shows it's doing some "real" work instead of just mowing a lawn. :)

I have the same attitude for my truck whose bed is quite scratched up from actually hauling things.

i tried bungee cord..nope. didnt work

its not that im against scratches, but i try to prevent them from happening for as long as i can. Do it with my trucks as well. my 2004 f350 has only 1 minor rock chip. its amazing what care and wax can save.

ok, its probably just me being ****, but i had to fix this issue.

Was actually pretty easy to do...took about 1.5 hours. I removed the loader support arm on the right side and installed a 1/2" diameter rod to work as a guide for the hoses. Works slick, and the lines no longer rub on the tractor metal. They also no longer contact the latch pin .

I noticed that the hoses were rubbing on the loader latch pin. this could of caused wear and tear no the hoses over time.

Now i just wish i could get a better match for the paint.

Kioti dealers sell spray cans of the orange- yours is the second generation paint color. Also can be bought by the quart, etc. I used automotive hardener to add to the paint when my body man repainted my damaged DK-35 hood.
There should be a hose protection sleeve fitted over your hoses to keep the chafing from happening- is there anything on them?

[if the hoses dont swivell then just turn the nut a bit until the hose lines up without rubbing ,,,,,,,,,,,,,

mine have the sleeve, but it was causing scuff marks anyways. its only 2 months old.. there was nothing to swivel. they go straight into the couplers.

when i raised and lowered the loader, the hoses were rubbing during the entire operation.

Now they don't get within 1/2" of the metal.

I looked over my DK40SE yesterday, and couldn't ID the problem spot (couldn't find any scratches or rubbing of hoses). That was before you posted photos though, I'll take a closer look today.

I'm only at 26 hours though so maybe I'll notice it later.
