Just purchased a trailer sprayer

I just purchased a 25 gallon trailer sprayer from my local TSC and I was wondering if any other BX2200 owners have one of these and how they wired it to their tractor.The unit comes with a two wire lead with alligator clips, but i would like something more permanent and secure.

I don't have one, but if it were me I would use the wires under the seat. They are there for auxiliary lights/etc. I would probably then add a cigarette lighter plug to the sprayer and a cigarette lighter outlet to the tractor. Simple yet should be effective.

This is perhaps a dumb question but why not get the 3-point unit and use a roller pump off the PTO? I have been looking at the 50/60 gallon units, boom poles and hand gun, roller pump for about 400 dollars. I think they would do OK on the BX, since I don't have the unit yet so I cannot say it would for sure but I am pretty dang sure it would do OK on a BX and the 2410 for dang sure. You don't have to fill it up all the way. J

JR, I've used both kinds, and guess you've had enough experience to know that you'll probably want an adjustable pressure regulator with bypass back to the tank with the roller pump. I really like the roller pumps myself. And I would want a filter (just a fine screen wire filter works fine) in the line before the pump.

I also added a switch on the dash to control the cigarette receptical and that allowed me to turn on or off the pump very easily. I would strongly recommend adding a switch somewhere.

And I would invest a couple extra bucks and buy a waterproof switch. A cheap switch will cost you a couple bucks, a 100% waterproof one will cost between $8 and $12, but it will last for many years of use.

The cigarette set-up like Bob Skurka's looks to be almost ideal. If you do use the battery clips and run wire all the way back to the sprayer with a disconnect, I would use an in-line fuse somewhere. It'll protect you from having a short start to melt wires and smoke the tractor.
