Tractor
Kubota B-2650
Just purchased a 1-owner, 2004 B-7800 with 422 hours/garaged/manuals/ all paperwork, and in real nice shape.

Came with a Kubota 60" belly mower in excellent condition.

Wondering where the best place is to put the MMM up for sale?
Will this mower only fit a 7800, and all the years that the B7800 model was made?

Also, looking for some direction on where to buy filters and what brand?

What is the best engine oil and what weight for this engine?

What is the best hydro fluid and where to buy?

And what is the best fuel additive and the best engine oil additive?

Best type of grease for the FEL fittings?

Should I change hydro filter/s without changing the fluid and how often?

Anyone use Marvel Mystery oil in their diesel tractor?

Thanks!

This thread would be better originated in the Kubota Owning/Operating Forum.

Congratualations. Is this the same B-7800 TLB you wrote about in March? Did you receive an Operator's Manual with your purchase? Most of your questions will be answered in the Operatror's Manual.

I would use the Kubota recommended fluids, grease, and Kubota filters, changed per the Operator's Manual intervals; no additives. At 422 hours your B-7800 is just broken in.

Look at the identification plate on the MMM and tells us exactly what model it is.

There are 86 threads in the T-B-N archive with the KEYWORD "B-7800" in the Thread Title:

Enjoy your tractor.

hard to argue with using fluids printed in the manual.

Another hard thing to do is find generic utf's that meet SUDT specs too.

For engine oil.. go by your temp chart. in your area.. it likelt specs a C rated 10w30 diesel oil.. or a 5w40 C rated synthetic. ( cold weather ops..e tc.. )

I'd get oem filters.

find what grease spec it wants int he manual.. that's the easiest to match up. Premium greases are EZ to come by.

On fuel.. I surely WOULD use a fuel supplement.

some like white bottle power service. some stanadyne.. some howes.. some lucas.. etc...

Amazon......... I don't think you have a lot of choices....you bought a Kubota

What is the best engine oil and what weight for this engine?
That question has a million answers, mine is "it don't matter, just change it regular"

What is the best hydro fluid and where to buy?
Any oil...as long as it meets Kubota specs...get it at Sam's or Costco.

And what is the best fuel additive and the best engine oil additive?

I don't think you need either, just keep clean oil and fresh fuel in it

Best type of grease for the FEL fittings?
Don't much matter as long as you grease it regular
Should I change hydro filter/s without changing the fluid and how often?
No and check your manual
Hope you like that machine. Start looking for a bigger one, you're gonna want it.

As far as the mower I would advertize it on your local Craigslist. When I bought my L2900 it came with a Kubota 72" MMM and i sold it on Craigslist. It sold pretty quickly and a guy came about 150 miles to pick it up.

Kubota gets a kings Ransom for those mowers, If you find someone that needs it they will pay for it.
You better make sure you can't use it because I believe those attachments are proprietary and if you ever need one you have to go to the dealer.

Wondering if someone could help answer a question about a Briggs and Stratton engine?
I have a B&S engine on my MTD wood splitter. Some how engine oil gets into the air filter.

I ran it yesterday for a couple of hours and when I brought it into the garage, I saw a trail of engine oil
on the floor that came from the air filter. Ever since i purchased the machine, the air filter always has
oil in it??

Start a new thread for your Briggs & Stratton question. Keep each thread to ONE topic. Otherwise, the archive becomes useless.

I suggest posting your Briggs & Stratton question in the Owning and Operating Forum.

You will have better response.

Seeing as you are not as cold where you are as here you can try the other fluids and filters recommended other then Kubota. You might have more noise with them and you may hurt some components but the tractor vary well will survive.

I am not a fan of buying OEM filters and oils as most don't make them. They do like to make a profit. Here is a list of quality Wix filter Numbers that match your unit. You can also take these numbers and go to Napa and just tell them it's a Wix filter number.

Air Filter 49410 B7800HSD w / Kubota V1505ED16 Engine 6C06099410
Fuel Filter 33830 B7800HSD w / Kubota V1505ED16 Engine 6A32059930
Hydraulic 51551 B7800HSD w / Kubota V1505ED16 Engine 7005093751 (Backhoe)
Hydraulic 57089 B7800HSD w / Kubota V1505ED16 Engine HH67037710
Oil Filter 51344 B7800HSD w / Kubota V1505ED16 Engine HH16032093
Transmission Filter 51361 B7800HSD w / Kubota V1505ED16 Engine HH66036060

I would NOT use and engine oil additive, I use Howes for the diesel fuel. A far as engine oil i run 15w-40 in the summer and 10w-30 in the winter. Once i get some more hours on my unit and what i think you should run is a full syn 5w40 oil. Just make sure its a diesel oil. Grease i would use a good quality one not the cheapest one you can find.

Hope this helps.
Enjoy the new ride
And by the way your lucky to be living in the town with some of the countries best fly fishing. Last time i was fishing the Farmington a guy was over from Ireland just to fish it.:drink:
