Hello all,
Just got back from the JD dealer, where I test-drove a 2520 FEL/BH. There is no doubt in my mind that the 2520s are hands down a better machine than the NH T1110 I looked at on Friday. So here is the "no haggle" price:

Machine: JD 2520
Year: 2008 (would need to be ordered)
FEL: JD 200CX (49" bucket)
BH: JD 46
R4 tires
Front brush guard
Power beyond hydraulics (obviously)
Approximate price: $23,000 (w/o 7% NJ sales tax).

So far, the financing deals are as follows:
1. 0% for 42 months
2. 4.9% for 48
3. 5.5% for 60
4. 5.9% for 72
5. 6.5% for 84

As for financing my purchase, I've been told by other tractor owners that tractors don't lose as much of their valve, as say cars and trucks do, so going with a longer finance term isn't really that big of a deal. They basically say that with tractors, it's almost impossible (unless you trash the crap out of the machine) to be "upside down" with regards to how much you owe versus how much the tractor is worth. Is this relatively true?

Does this price sound good or should I shop around a little more? To be honest, I'm a little hesitant to shop around because this dealer seems to have their act together, they're relatively close and the sales staff is real friendly.

Now on a side note, I have a line on a used 2007 2520 with 24 hours and just the 200CX FEL. The dealer wants $15,300, plus shipping from Wisconsin to NJ. He also has a used 2006 2520 with 116 hours, the 200CX, plus a 62D drive-over MMM for $16,900- again plus shipping. I think the price difference between the new one I was quoted today and these used machines wouldn't be much by the time I add the 46 BH to the used ones and get them shipped.

Any help or input would be great!

Thanks,
Ryan

No matter what go with the 53" bucket, had one on my 2210 and loved it.

Yeah, I figure I'll have the dealer upgrade to the 53".

If I were in your shoes I'd go ahead with the new local unit...like you said, by the time you add the BH and ship the other units to you, you'll be very close in price. Figure the little extra bucks goes to getting a BRAND new one with a Warranty.
As for a value you cant place numerically....and this is how I personally feel... but part of buying a local machine is Relationship... used or new, if you bought it from the local dealer, chances are if he's got his act together as you mention....He'll help you out when you need it most. How much would he help you if something drastic happened to a machine you purchased a bazillion miles away to save a few bucks.....sure he'll probably take it in for service, but it will always be at the tail end of the line...
True story....with only 15 hours on my 3520 I bent one of the 3pt arms like a Bananna....Truly an iffy warranty call IMO...told my dealer, he asked for pics...he talked to JD and a week later a new arm was in....would he have done that for "someone else's machine"????

That's my thinking exactly.

For the 2520 I really think the 53" bucket it still too small.
The 49" in tiny for this tractor.

Tell the dealer to put the 61" bucket on the 2520.
Those other buckets are too small I think.
The 2520 has no trouble lifting the 61" piled full and you'll be glad you have the extra buck size sometimes.

Nope. According to my dealer the 0% offer is for 42 months only.

I was going to write a check (actually the wife was) for my 2320 but dealer said Deere had 0% for 48 months. I said, can't beat that, paid half and took a loan for the other half.

if your going to upgrade the bucket , go with a 61 inch. the 2520 handles
anything you can put in it, anything smaller is a waist.
its a fine machine , you will love it.

Chris....:)
