Hello, the dealer came on Monday to pick up my tractor and take it in to get the 540/540e/1000 PTO, loader lights, hydraulic quick connects and power reverser modulator installed, was told I would get it Wednesday (today) so this morning I called them to find out when to expect delivery and they said it won't be today cause they found a leak on the tractor, I asked where and they said the electro hydraulic valve for the 3 point hitch so now I might get it on Friday.

If there is a leak then wouldn't I have noticed it? I mean the area around the tractor was dry and the 3 point was working properly. Anyone like to explain how it leaks but doesn't lose fluid?

Leak was caused by the work the dealer did....

While it is possible the dealer caused a leak, it is possible it was leaking before. A leak doesn't need to be dripping on the ground to be leaking. It might have been only damp and they noticed it and want to get it fixed while it is there. I have had similar situations many times.

The new John Deere tractors sure do leak a lot! I have had 5 leaks on mine, but none within the last 300 hours.

I was actually just thinking that too, I think there is another thread where a guy had his coolant lines leaking and he had to retighten everything up.

The 5065M here hasn't had any leaks and has about 140 hours on it.

That's good to hear, at least there is one 5M out there with no leaks with low hours, lol.
