Backhoe JW03 BackHoe side stabilization cyl Control ?

My new JW-03 BH was assembled my dealer and everything seems fine, however it seems like the control levers for the side stabilization cylinders work in the wrong direction.

When you push the lever down, the stablizer raises and when you pull the lever up, the stablizer extends.
I'm not so sure that this correct (doesn't seem intuative to me). (my old JD trackhoe has these levers vertical and you push to extend and pull to retract. )

This is no big deal, but if it's wrong I want to change it when I change the system oil and would like to make it the same as might be standard in the 'fleet'.

I would appreciate comments and experiences.

That is correct, according to the manual. See web page and click on manual button. It is a MSWord doc, and is a few pages down.

If you don't like that arrangement, just swap the hoses on each cylinder.

I would just swap the hoses on the Hyd Cylinder: very easy: remember there is a small O-RING between the Hose Fitting and the ACT fitting. there SHOULD be more o-rings in the spare parts that came with the HOE. mine had about 20 in the small mesh bag. anyhow those o-rings are not STANDARD and didn't come in my 720 part o-ring kit O got from Harbor Freight or HOMIER (forget which) they are re-useable as long as they don't get cut or damaged...

otherwise you may have to go SHOPPING with a greasy o-ring attached to the car keys! ;o don't ask how I know, but I bought a few before looking over my spare parts /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Also thanks for the link to the Operating Manual. Strange that this unit didn't come with a manual.

Hi Dirtpoor; Yep I would say they are correct..I have a JW-6 chinese hoe,The Picture of the hoe controls on the pannel show that you Raise the lever to lower the stabelizers and push down to raise them..and that's how mine have been.PS. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gifthese things are great for pulling out tree stumps!.Enjoy!
