I got this Husqvarna LTH2142D new in 2010 and for the last 14years I mowed a flat 1/3 acre of land around my house. I was told the K46CR transmission was not a serviceable item, so hence just mowing year after year. For the last two years it just slower and slower until this summer I had to start nursing it a bit more than I was. That's when I started to look at youtube and your videos were so much better than all the rest, so I bit the bullet and stripped down the transmission.
The oil level was correct and when I tipped id out it was in fairly clean condition for it's age, it was not black only a light brown and not a burnt smell to it.
I had very little metal parts and sludge on all four magnets and where you pointed out the wear sections on the two cylinder blocks and the block that house the cylinders... I had virtually no wear on all the parts and I only had to use 1500grit w&d on the four surfaces to bring them up to nice shiny surface all the way across on all 4.. The two bearing races were in remarkable condition. The IDS has a filter which both were clear.
I put it all back together with my computer besides me so I would not make a mistake, put 20w50 in it, purged with my drill, back into the mower and started it jacked up the back and ran it back and forwards to make sure I got out any air bubbles then started to mow.
It seemed to go well, them as it heated up the forward motion started slow down and it seemed a bit jerky when coming back to neutral and also jerky starting to go back or forward a bit more than it used to.
I need your help big time. WHAT have done or not done to end up with the same problem.
Thanks
