Kabota M4800 3 Pt lift range too low.
I hope someone can help me with this. I have a Kabota M4800 SU and the 3 point hitch at its lowest position is right on the floor. When I put a bush hog on I can just manage to lift it high enough to get it off the ground. I am pretty sure the range of lift from low to high is sufficient, or would be if I could only adjust it to start from a low of 10 or 12 inches off the ground.
There is a short rod attached to the tractor end of the left side lower lift arm. Slightly below this is a shaft coming out through the rear housing that looks like it will rotate and control something inside the housing. Attached to the visible end of this shaft at a 90 degree angle and pointing toward the front of the tractor is a second rod. These 2 rods are connected to each other with a pivot so that when the lower arm comes up rod #1 will rotate down pushing rod #2 down and rotating the shaft counter clockwise.
I wonder if this could be there to adjust the 途ange of lift from low to high. Rod #1 seems to be threaded with perhaps a threaded coupling and lock nut to vary the length of rod #1.
I am sure it took longer to write all this than it would have to crawl in there and try something but the whole assembly is very difficult to get to and I am afraid to mess with it until I know more about it.
Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks
Andy
