Anyone have any electrical problems on a 454? I kept blowing the 30 amp fuse. I originally thought it was the gauge cluster but Today,I have disconnected all the lights at the harness in the front and back. Will look at it tommorrow then it is off to the mechanic to let him fix er up for me...So far the fuse hasnt blown but tommorrow is another day..... I would like to rewire the tractor and put some United States gauges on it.

Ronny,
That panel is pretty reliable, it is the same as on the Jinma LE model and others. If the panel is bad we can replace it under warranty, but sounds like a pinched wire somewhere.

I have blown my fuse on my 554 3 times now. Not sure what is causing it yet, havent looked at it real close but if i just re-wrap the fuse it lasts for a while. I wonder if the wrong wire is on my fuse holder. Anyone ever have the wrong wire wrapped? Anyone got a micrometer handy to measure the correct 30 amp wire as a reference?

Ronny, I have had this problem for several months now and have still not fixed it! The electrical problem has grown to affect all instruments switches and lights. The only thing that works is the starter. Please read over the my post if there is anything that helps please let us know.

The wire is probably the wrong size. Mine was doing the same thing. I just wraped it twice and that stopped it!! It will still blow if there is a short. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

sevencorners,
Your setup on your JInma is different. uses blade type fuses. you may have the same gage panel if you have the combined panel and not individual gages.. All of the current goes through the amp meter except the power used to turn the starter. The power to engage the solenoid however does go through the amp meter so...you have a short somewhere.
Install only the 30 amp fuse, does it blow? if not add fuses till you find the problem.

Oh one big question, has it ever worked right since assembled?

5amp wire is .008 ,10 amp wire is .013, 15 amp wire is .020

On another note..Yes my machine came with 10 amp wire wrapped in place of the 30 amp, it would blow every time I hit the glow plugs. Easy fix tho.

aha!! I can tell you without even looking that my wire is not .030 thick. Looks like i probably have .010 at the best.
