Tractor
Kubota, G5200, KAMA 454
On my KAMA 454 the tac has stoped working. It just sits on 0 RPMs. I have removed the sensor and cleaned. I measured the resistance at 1.19 kohm. With key on the voltage going to the sensor was 0.01 V DC.

With the tractor off
I re-installed the sensor untill touching the fly wheel and backed it off 1.5 turns. Started and still nothing.

Does the resistance sound correct? The voltage appaers low.

Not a big issue but thought I'd run it by the 'team'

I saw mine sitting there on 0 once myself already. It's been adjusted also. Makes me think loose wire somewhere. It's working now but I have a feeling not for long. As it still reads about 200 low. Looks like to me you would need a graphing multi-meter to actually see the pulses coming off the sensor. Also seems to me the sensor would need voltage for the circuit to sense the pulses. My tractor is 50 miles away but if you don't get it figured out I will check the voltage on mine for you while it's still working.

I wouldn't expect to see voltage on the tach sensor wire at all, but I'll measure resistance through the sensor for you next time I'm in the shed. You may have just lost a connector behind the cluster.

Thanks Greg.

The voltage I measured across the disconected clip (tractor side) was very small, 0.01V, could be noise. I'm not sure how this works but if the sensor is an inductor/coil and the flywheel has a magnetic area, you would be right about not seeing any voltage.

I will check the conections under the dash

I have seen Chip's advice to insure the proper distance. maybe he will chime in heer.
