I am interested in a 25-30 hp tractor with a loader.. I can do some minimal maint and wondered which of the above would give me the best service for the Money spent.. My local farm supply guy said he prefers NOT to work on chine tractors , esp shinnue (? sp). Thanks in advance.. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

To simplify things, FarmPro is merely a rebadged Jinma. Beyond a few cosmetics, the main difference would be in the degree of support extended to you by the dealer. Service after sale is a VERY big factor in choosing your machine.

I recently got rid of my Jinma, in favor of a KAMA. Not that there was anything generically wrong with the Jinma. But the dealer was only interested in selling - not fixing (competently anyway).

But I need to stress that Chinese tractors are HEAVY machines. They need more horsepower to move themselves around than do American/Japanese/Korean tractors in the same size ranges. Figure at least 5-10 more hp than you THINK you'll need; five or more for flat ground, ten or more for hillside work.

But if you want to stay in the 30-35 hp range, you'll likely have to go to the KAMA little brother - Taishan. I think KAMAs in America start at 45 hp, but the smaller Taishan comes from the same parent company. Sorta like Pontiac and Chevy are both General Motors products. Here's a website that should help get you started.

Well, I sell all of these so I 'll try to give you a few things to consider. First JINMA and FARM PRO are the same tractor, so it will come down to dealer support and price leading you to a decision between these two. Some Jinma dealers order extra options to differentiate themselves, all essentials are included on Farm Pros, (two stage clutch, folding rops, etc.).

The 25/28HP JINMA/Farmpro use the same 3 cyl. engine as the KAMA TS254C. the 30/35HP JINMA/FARMPRO use a three cylinder 395 engine, the 35HP KAMA uses a 4 cylinder 485 direct injection (no glow plugs needed) engine. All of these are good engines, the direct injection is quicker starting by design.

The KAMA TS254C and TS354C use the same chassis, it is heavier and stronger than the 200 (25/28HP) JInmas, escpecially in the front axle, front differential area. Also the KAMA locates the steering cylinder above the front axle out of the way. I believe the 300 (30/35HP) JInma is comparable in chassis size. The KAMA has an improved clutch design, using separate fingers for main and PTO clutch disks which I think makes adjustment easier and also reduces the effort to work the clutch pedal.

Most KAMA dealers are stocking models with shuttle shift as standard, with 8 x8 transmission, the 200 series Jinma has creeper 3x2x2 (12 F 4R). the 30/35HP JInma is 8F 2 R without shuttle. Shuttle is available on the 200 series Jinma but it is only 6x6 becasue the basic trans is a three speed, with two ranges. Creeper is avialable on the KAMAs but is not usually in stock this way. (we will have some end of July). Creeper is handy if you plan to run a rototiller.

The KAMA TS Series is comparable to the Jinma LE series in style and features combined gages, wrap around headlight, spring suspension seat, etc.

Farm Pro is backed by a large national company who stands behind the warranty giving you a fall back if you have problems with your dealer. JINMA and KAMA are supported only by the selling dealer, as are most Chinese tractors sold.

As you can see, I am not making an effort to sell you on one over the other, If that is what you wanted, I appologize. Some of these differences may mean something to you and you can apply a value to them in making your comparison.

You can expect to get good service out of any of these tractors, We usually try to let the customer's needs and preferences decide which way to go. Go drive them and pay close attention to the dealers commitment, proper shop facilities? parts? etc.

Do you have any specific question that didn't get addressed?

Bluechip said it really well. basically comes down to dealer support and if you can wrench on it you're self then it comes to price.

I have a jinma 284 TLB with tiller RMF Dump Trailer and 6' box blade it pulls them all really well and I work my 22 acres of woods with it lifting and pushing LARGE logs (much bigger than I figured I could mainly do to what was said above they are HEAVY tractors for the HP.) but I haven't been lacking HP as much as I do traction in 4 wheel drive with dif loc on I can spin the tires adingst an imovable object, but if you lift hit and pry enough it will move!

Week point on the JINMAS is Electrical and Hydraulics. though both function they are not up to the big 3 and or 2nd tier tractors.

Hey, how ya' doin'?

I have never had the opportunity to get on a JINMA or KAMA, so I can't speak for them. But, I did use a Farm Pro 2425 with a 6ft. grader box the other day, ALL DAY, and love the tractor /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif. It had PLENTY of POWER and did EVERYTHING I needed to do. It "felt" very strong and "tight". My first tractor purchase will probably be a brand new Farm Pro 2420 (2wd). I don't need a 4WD or a Front End Loader. But If I needed them, I would probably buy the Farm Pro 2425. And, because I live about 5 1/2 miles from an Authorized Farm Pro Service Dealer. Do a lot of research and you will choose the right one FOR YOU. Don't let someone make the choice for you. Be sure you have good dealer support and that they will be there for you in the near future. Take peoples' advice/opinion and let that be it. It is your money. Trust me, I am 19yrs. old and have already learned from experience with 4-wheelers.

Good luck, /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
