I have been looking at selling the ATV's and getting a Kawasaki Mule. I don't want the big full sized 3010, I'm looking at the 4wd model 610. I want to use it to ride around the property, pull a 48" wide lawn roller, 42" lawn sweeper, and to generally goof around with. Does anyone have any experience with these? What should I expect to pay, out the door? Thanks

Here in Louisiana I priced them when they first came out and I was quoted $6400 w/o tax. I went with the 3010 4x4 for $8100.

Big Lug,
Thanks for the information. That gives me a good idea were to start my price/dealer shopping.
Thanks again

My Mule is the predecessor 550 I think it is. Its only 2wd and was about $5600 3 or 4 years ago. We like it very much, although if you compare to an ATV it is very slow. It is also a little anemic in the power department, going up hills and such.

Alan, thanks for your input.

We have found that in the compact size utility vehicles there isn't alot of options: the small 10 HP Deere Gator only goes 15 MPH. The EZ-GO is 2wd and looks like a golf cart, our Tractor Supply Store sells a 2wd Yerf Dog. The problem with the Yerf is no local service or parts support and it has an engine that I've never even heard of. The cashier at TSC told me that they have sold 5 recently ($4,299) and had 3 of them returned due to defects. The mule goes 25 MPH which seems to be the leader in the compact class. So the Kawasaki 610 seems to have won by default.

Steve,

Thanks, I sent you an email. I'm curious about how much shipping would be to 48813?

Well it looks like the new Mule is on the way. The model 610 4wd, delivered, tank full of gas, tax, $6,995. It should be here next Wednesday or Thursday. I'll be sure to post pictures.

It think $7K is a good deal. Seems like the 610 has a better engine than the 550 and added to the 4WD, about $1400 difference from what I paid is not bad at all. And, there are nearly 3 years of inflation to account for.

Our 550 has 375 hours on it with no problems at all.

They are delivering the new toy tonight! I stopped by the dealer at lunch to see it and it is as cute as a bug's ear! I can't wait and I am whipped into a frenzy! I'll post pictures soon. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
