Has anyone found a good product to spray on the underside of decks to keep the grass from accumulating?

I've tried Super Lube which is a ptfe based dri lubricant and was not impressed. I've recently tried MO DECK which is a polymer based spray product and so far, the results look promising. The deck still accumulates clippings however the hose just seems to wash them right off.

How are you keeping your decks clean & what products have you found that work well?

There have been several threads on this in the past, everything from Rhino spray-in bedliner material to Slip-Plate implement paint to oil coating...the popular consensus seems to be nothing works very well for very long...

Amen to not finding anything long term to any coating.

Removing grass clippings with a power washer tends to be the best solution....so far.

The bed liner stuff works great, next time I do mine, I might spend the extra money on a professional application to see if it lasts longer(I suspect it will)..

As for the pressure washer, I wouldnt use it because you WILL get watter in the bearrings and cause premature failure of them... I just use a putty knife and screwdriver... NAsty job, but its got to be done.. Much better when the bed liner stuff was new.. After one season, I had nearly no build up, but the coating was pealing off.. I didnt have time to reapply it this year, so I expect there to be some more build up this year, just havnt checked yet..

Best system I had was on my old Jacobsen. It had a hose attachment on the top of the deck. Connct the hose, turn the blades on high and in 5 minutes the deck was clean. I've also read where running the blades on a pile of wood chips worked too. The spray-on lubricants are very temporary at best.

Someone is going to make millions when they permanently solve this one! I was removing the deck and pressure washing it which was time consuming but effective. Then someone commented that I would have bearing problems, not to mention back problems from lifting on that deck after every mowing. They suggested using compressed air. My uncle gave me a 3 foot long aluminum compressed air spray nozzle which I use for cleaning the chaff out of the combine at the end of the season. I have a Sears air compressor, twin cylinder with a good cfm capability, so I tried it...and it really did a good job of clearing grass, plus, with the deck lifted, I don't have to remove it from the tractor. Granted, it is still a messy job, but no wheres near as messy as using the garden hose or pressure washer, plus, the tractor and deck doesn't get wet, so I imagine that will help keep things from rusting. A slight residue of grass will remain, but once the heavy accumulation is gone, the little residue left dries up quickly and hasn't created a problem. One note...you do need a good capacity air compressor to do this...a wimpy air compressor just won't cut it.
