Keeping FEL controls on the tractor

Thanks for the recommendations, KennyD. I noticed that the one valve has been discontinued. The other one that you linked (9-7401 ) features "regenerative feature for rapid extension of cylinder". That's not something that I want, right? Isn't that the feature that prevents my using my current loader valve to angle my snowplow?

This hydraulic stuff is beyond me for the most part, so talk slow and use small words!

:ashamed: I'd like to get this right on the first go. . . .

A joystick control (two spools) for lift and angle on the snowplow is what I'm after

Alright Jim...Very observant on the regen feature! Yes, that will not allow the angle to work on the plow.

But-there is always a but right? If you look at this link: http://www.brand-hyd.com/install/LV_Installation_Sheet.pdf on page 2 you will see that the regen feature is only active when the joystick is moved far to the right, moving it just half way will not allow the regen to be active. This is the same way my JD loader valve works-it even has a mechanical lockout to prevent it from going to far and activating the regen.

That 9-7401 valve will work perfect for you.

I was looking at Northern Tool's site. They offer this valve which is very similar to the one at Surplus Center. It doesn't mention the regen feature at all and the price is lower! Still it does say this valve is for loaders. . . . Will it work for my application?

No matter which of these Brand Hydraulics valves I pick--I know I have to order their "Power Beyond" fitting.

That valve from NT will work great also...Surplus Center recently raised their prices-they used to be 199 also.

No, those selector valves really won't help.

My loader valves are attached to the quick-attach frame on the loader. When I take the loader off the tractor, and then put my snowplow on; the valves are no longer on the tractor!

I'm thinking I'll just order up the control valve from Northern and get it physically mounted on the tractor w/ the loader in place. Then when I'm happy with that I'll pull the loader off, remove the old, single-spool control valve, and figure out what components I'm going to need to plumb the new control valve into the tractor hydraulics. My Yanmar uses a lot of British Standard threads, and I'll no doubt need hoses that are a little longer as I plan on mounting the new valve in a different location that is a little handier. Once I get that all figured out I'll probably order the rest from Surplus Center.
