As spring is coming to a close and summer is coming, thought all SA owners should remember to ck the Plastic Cooling fan that is on the end of the driveshaft. Early machines didn't have any protection from tall grass and small branches which would come up and break the blades off which in turn did not cool the trans. and the cooling fins on the trans would become packed with debris. As we know the fins have to be clear in order to dissipate the heat from the trans. Many of the early customers cut a piece of screen and attached it to both sides of the frame in front of the fan. There is now a kit that is available from Yanmar. You should also ck periodically that the fins on the trans are
open and not clogged.
