i have heard you should store your tractor with the front bucket fully curled to avoid cylinder exposure to the elements. I have seen plenty of tractors with the bucket lowered so to keep snow and rain from accumulating in the bucket.

thoughts?

I also keep the tip of the bucket on the ground to keep rain and snow out. Of course in the winter my machine is parked indoors but it still has packed snow in the bucket, so as it melts it falls out. If I ever have to leave any type of cylinder rod exposed for any length of time I'll cover it with a thin layer of grease. Never had a problem yet.
