I am planning to mount a Superwinch Terra 45 to the front of my RTV 1140 CPX. I see the KFI mounting system available online for less than $50. As I recall the Kubota dealer wanted much more for a winch mount when I purchased the rig in Dec 2009. Has anyone here used the KFI mount? Any knowledge of a better mount? Thanks for your help!

What I've done or started doing. I bought a 3000lb winch from Harbor Freight for around $80 with one of their coupons and this mount for $60 with one of their coupons.
This mount can go on the back but with new holes drilled since the back Reese hitch is to shallow or here on the front with no modification other than specific holes drilled for the base of the winch.
I've stopped completion of the installation due to hot weather and I'm hunting some type connector for the wires going to the battery from the winch so I can unplug it and remove with leads still connected to battery for easy plugging back in when I reinstall the winch front or back. Haven't found the right connector, yet.
Accepting suggestions for a two lead connector to carry the amps and shielded for at least one of the wires.

I used a trolling motor plug and receptacle that I found at a marina. I think it had 6 gauge wire. I mounted it right in the front bumper and the rear guard.

Thanks Randy. I looked those up on Ebay and plug and receptacle will be over $25 and that's more than I'm willing to pay. Will keep looking for something cheaper. Maybe at a Yard Sale or Flea Market.

The best way to go is the Anderson Powerpole SB175 connector, it is what Warn has on their cables and they are not that bad in price for what they do. They are a genderless connector so there is no male or female connector to worry about. I use them in ham radio hobby and many industrial forklifts use them alot also. The shells may house a wide range of wire sizes, next project for me is making up a set of jumper cables that I can plug into the rear winch socket for the RTV.

Found a local Industrial Supply that can get these for me but it takes two to connect together which makes it over $20 and not convinced it's worth that.
Still looking.

I mounted the same winch on my RTV 500 with the KFI mount made for that machine and it worked perfectly. The dealer prices were too high on all that basic stuff.

I bought the KFI mount. I haven't had time to install, but it looks like a perfect fit. I found the Superwinch for $174 on a 2 hr sale (amazon deal). I had more than that in "points" from ordering with them over time, so got the winch at no cost. Got the mount for about $45 so I am pleased! KFI web site shows pic of the system mounted on RTV - very nice!

If you need to have a connector that will handle that much power it is hard to get something cheaper that is that durable. Most electric forklifts use that connector in a larger size on the battery banks. In the long run it may be cheaperas you may only need 3 connectors instead of 2 sets with other styles to fit on front and rear. The last thing you want is a poor quality connector as these cables are usually connected direct to battery and are unfused. I use covoluted tubing or the heavy spiral tubing wrap over all the battery cables to protect from sharp edges and prevent shorts.
