How many of you have kids that love to help work.
My 21/2 year old grandson stands by the window waiting for me to get home. He heads to the barn with me every evening and most times we are out til dark.
He always helps the girls that feed the horses. Hands them buckets or dumps the feed for them.
This year is his first garden and he loves to hoe. He picks the vegetables and put them in a bucket.
Last nite I was trying to rake out some stone in new stalls and he was taking the rake away from me. Finally I gave him the rake and went and got a shovel.
He picks up the scrap cut offs from the boards and stacks them. And loves to stack firewood.
I know 2 is young but I'm constantly amazed at what he catches on to and how quickly he improves.
His there such a thing as a farming child prodigy.

That is very special. My 2 boys (now 16 and 18) used to love hanging around me and doing stuff when they were young. Around the early teens their attention went from work to play. Now, whenever there is work to be done they manage to disappear into thin air.

You, sir, are blessed! We have twin 2 1/2 year olds. Both love to help dad and stand at the door wailing until they get outside. Like the others said, enjoy it while you can. Toddlers are enjoyable and impressionable while you have a great opportunity to teach him so many things. You both are making memories that will last as I did with my grandpa.

Our second boy is 2, he is going through the too helpful twos right now:laughing:, he will help with anything and everything. His older brother, 5, has been on the MF for 50 of the 55 hours now on the clock. Their 12 year old sister grumbles and grouches, but does a lot of work while complaining. Start them and teach them young, it never ceases to amaze me when our daughter has friends over and we hear that they don't do chores, or they don't do labor:confused2:, my answer is usually that they can wait on the driveway for their parents then:shocked:

I love my grandson to death. I have hopes he will stay here and take the operation over one day. I even named the place after him. We call it the Lucky Lucas Ranch.
