I've been browsing this site for a while now, and appreciate all the helpful info posted here. One thing I keep noticing is the high quality of some of the members photos that they post as attachments. I assume some are using digital cameras some are not.I would really like to know what brand and model camera some of you are using to get the high quality photos I am seeing. Thanks in advance.Tom White

Sony FD97. What I like about the camera is I have the option of using floppies or the memory stick. A floppy is really nice when you're going to be using someone else's puter to view the photo.

I've also found it invaluable in situations where taking a picture on a floppy and giving to someone else to keep. That works great on jobs. It's also nice when folks want you to take a picture of something that doesn't interest you.

TomWhite,

Sony CyberShot 707 5 mega-pixel, 128 MB chip, USB to my computer and RCA audio/video output to my TV.

I can do stills and some short, web-quality video + infra-red night vision pictures with no flash in total darkness. I absolutely love it. Once you go digital it's hard to go back just because it's so convenient.

Olympus C3020, and I don't know how I managed without it. It has come in real handy both at home and at work...............chim

I love my Olympus C-700 with it's 10x optical zoom. The biggest differentiator here is how close the photo is to the 100k size limit. I usually try to keep pictures closer to 50k rather than the 100k to take it easy on our bandwidth impaired bretheren, but some quality is sacrificed.

I have a Canon PowerShot S300. Small enough to fit in your pocket and great photos. Connects via USB to computer or TV and uses a memory card as well. The zoom works well too. It is 2 megapixel, the newer model S400 is 4 megapixel. Bought it on eBay reciently for under $200

I have the updated version of this camera the DSC-F717 and it is one of 3 digitals I own. I use to have a DSC-d770 from Sony that took wonderful pictures but no where near the quality of the 717. So after I bought the 717 I sold the 770.

I also have a Olympus D-390 and a Kyocera that is out back and I can't remember the model number but they are basic little point and shoot cameras. The Olympus is a better quality camera then the Kyocera but they are both decent. I would use the Olympus over the Kyocera any day.

In the end I am a Sony guy. Have had great results with their products and I have no reason to change unless I can convince myself to buy a Canon EOS-1Ds (only $7k for just the camera body /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif) The advantage the Canon has over the Sony is the interchangeable lens. It would allow me to take more photos of wildlife by putting on a telephoto lens instead of having one size lens for everything. Picture quality on the Canon is as good if not better then any 35mm camera made. It is the top camera on the market if you are a serious photographer looking for a digital.

I have a FujiFilm FinePix 6900. I have not shot ONE picture with my film camera in over 2 years since getting this digital camera.

I have taken thousands of pictures, and those that I we want printed, we send the .JPG files to the Wal*Mart website and then in a few days we get our printed photos. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I have two Olympus cameras. A D490 2 mega pixel that my wife uses and a D560 3 mega pixel that I use. Both cameras take great pictures.
