King Cutter Dump Trailer

Need a trailer for general use around the farm (hobby) to haul various items. Would you recommend this trailer?, Other trailers that you might recommend in lieu of this one. Pricing - where to buy - I'm located in Central SW Indiana.

Looks like a nice item.

PS I know nothing about it, but have always been interested in getting one.

Country Mfg in Ohio sells small dump wagons and trailers. Several of us here have them.

Since it is truck shipped, will all of the shipped components fit in a standard 6X8 truck bed. You add the wood, assembly and hydraulic cylinder? Hydraulic cylinder - since I'm a city boy, where are these available, approximate cost - skill level needed for final assembly.

Thanks

Country Mfg ships on a pallet. 4x8 if I remember. You can call and ask. It comes with everything including the p/t wood. The 3x24 cylinder can be purchased from Surplus Center (part 9-4302-24) for $120. You are responsible for hoses and fittings. It is simple to assemble and directions are included.

There are several posts here regarding assembly and modifications. Do a search for Country Manufacturing or dump wagon.

I purchased a Country Manufacturing tandem axle trailer last winter. I met the semi at a parking lot and we unbanded the trailor from the pallet and loaded it (piece by piece) in my 5x10 trailer with lots of room left over.

I am not mechanically inclined but I assembled the trailer in 30 minutes(make that 40 minutes because I actually READ the instructions). The wood was included.

I have never plumbed hydraulics. It took me about two hours to figure it out (along with some help from my Fleet Farm guy) and another hour to plumb it.

It works great.

Has anyone converted these with a battery and a small hydraulic pump so that they dumped on their own without the tractor.

I need something that I can load up with the tractor and then haul where I need it and dump it with my pickup.

Loading it with the tractor, hooking it up and hauling it and dumping it and then hauling it back, unhooking it, loading it, hooking it back up, etc. seems like it would be a pain.

Just curious. Thanks, Nathan

Good questions! I look forward to the answers. I am looking into these dump trailers.

It shouldn't be that difficult to do. I am sure Surplus Center has all the components you would need. Your biggest hassles would be to build a battery box, and mounting brackets for the pump and reservoir. Depending on your ground clearances, there should be sufficient room under the bed and frame to fab up whatever is needed. The brackets for the cylinder are already in place.

If the dump trailer you are looking at is the King Kutter XB it is a pretty nice little trailer - not so sure it is quite worth the price though - although it appears to be the only one on the market quite like that in it's size.

I am pretty sure that the XB is manufactured for King Kutter by Pronovost - check out the P503:

There are two versions - highway or offroad only.

I am pretty sure that pronovost also makes these trailers for Montana tractors - Montana has a trailer listed that sounds a lot like the P503.

Puma (a Pronovost subsidiary) also has a new trailer that might be what you are looking for:
