Here are some photos I shot of the modifications that I have made to the King Kutter XB rotary mower to adapt to my 2305 with an I Match. Thanks to several of the forum members, I used various ideas to come up with this concept. All I have to do now is cut the chains after I get the length correct, and make sure the prop shaft is of proper length. I put these up for you review and suggestions prior to the grand run. The next hurdle is going to be dragging it on to my Big Tex trailer with the short ramps. I've constructed an extender presented on this forum at an earlier time. Any thoughts and suggestions will be appreciated. I did drill the bottom pins about 3/16 lower than I measured. The locks would not engage. So I removed one of the bushings on the top link which made it work. There is a minor slop in the top link. I doubt, if listening to you, that thats is going to make a diff. I did make the extended ear on the top link, so that I could incorporate another design if the two chains don't work out. As of now they pick the deck up even and about 8 or 9 inches when rock shaft is lifted. Jim

Looks like you did good and should enjoy the "new" cutter.

Not sure if I'm seeing this in your pics exactly right but you appear to have your top link distance extended so your iMatch does not sit vertical. Any reason for this?

That sharp pointy thing gives me the creeps! I hate seeing stuff like that on a tractor or an attachment. If it were me, I'd be cutting that point off or at least grind it down to a very dull tip.

Other than that, looks like it'll work great!

Nice Job. I got a hunch your planning to do this.....but I would get rid of that excess chain before you get operating too much. Else-wise....according to Murphy's Law......it will find its way into the PTO U-Joint or fall into the blade.

WHOOPS.....read your post. My bad.....you got the chains handled. WTG

Great Eyeballs!!!
The chain will be cut after all thoughts are in. Just in case! The sharp thing is a design which would typically ride on a welded piece between the two struts that would be modified if I did not use the chains. This project is designed so that if I'm not pleased with the chain route I can quickly modify the sharp arm for another evolution. The I match is tipped so that I have some adjustment in the top link. The mower rises even to about 8 or 9 inches above the ground on up If I square the I match The top arm is fully in. I'm ready and hoping for your great ideas on this stuff. JIM:laughing:

That is some nice work but I am curious how you plan to hold the top section in place when hooking up? It appears it would fall backwards if you bumped it with the hook.

The front A frame has enough tension between the arms and the frame. They are bolted with 5/8 bolts , lockwasher and nut so they will stand. The amount of times I have to hook into it is minimal in the course of the summer so it probably wont be much of a problem. But I have incorporated an opposite plan if I need, @ reinstalling shortened lift arms instead of the chains like Lwalsh did. This a combination of his and beenthere design

Sounds like you need a shorter top link. Most implements are designed to easily attach/detach from the iMatch when it is set vertically level. If your iMatch is tilted outward it will be difficult to pick up implements that are stored on level ground as most implements are vertically level in their lift points. Look at your ballast box for a good example of this.

You should design your mower lift and support points to match a vertically level iMatch.

This should also give you more operating and transport lift height range.

Hey Darrell:
Thanks for the feedback!!!! Help me out here; I assume you mean the top link referring to the adjustable link between the tractor and I Match. I turned that out on suggestion that it would allow me to make adjustments plus or minus in the field. That being said, I can turn the existing top link fully closed, and be square on all of the attachments, even the Brush Hog. If that is ok than no problem. If the existing (John Deere provided) Top link needs to be shortentened than best do it now before I cut the chain. Fully closed all is vertical with no adjustment, just the chains. Than after that, adjust the prop shaft accordingly. Any and all thoughts are appreciated. BTW the distance from the bottom IMatch arms to the top of the channel on top of rhe King Kutter is just enough to slide under the pins with little wiggle room. JIM
