Whats up with the bad paint jobs on king kutter equipment? I have seen several new pieces of equipment with paint coming off farely easy. Doesnt seem to be powered coated at all... Saw a brand new out of the box tiller the other day and it was sratched all up. I made a front bumper for my mule and had it powered coated and that paint job is WAY WAY tuffer than that KK pint job I saw... I know its only farm equipment but I cant get away from keeping things looking nice...

I see that your location is TN. Are you sure that it is King Kutter equipment? I only ask b/c King Kutter doesn't service TN for TSC anymore, and even though it looks like ours, if it has the County Line brand on it, it's probably not ours.

About the paint - we now use a two part epoxy paint that is very durable, however if a piece of equipment is scratched or scarred while in transit or being unloaded, it can come off. That is true with any paint.

Hope this answered your question.

Just a side note. Powder coat is not paint.

Not a KK product, but I bought a box blade that looked like it was dipped and put in a crate wet. Saying it had a few runs is like saying the Mississippi has a little water in it.

I own a KK equipment box blade, brush cutter and a subsoiler...and the paint has been fine.
They are a couple of years old, maybe something has changed, don't know.
Personally I hate powder coating, I've had way more problems with it than paint.

Thanks KK rep for the reply..It was a KK product and nothing from TSC.. Our local TSC dont cary any actual attachments at ALL... Just thought the paint looked like it was coming off pretty easy- at least to me.. But the KK tillers are well liked here on TBN..

New King Kutter equipment may have good paint, but every KK we have owned in the last few years had poor paint. They have been good mechanically, but paint...

Dads 5' KK tiller was purchased at tsc new about 10 years ago. It is one that also has paint issues. It was peeling and blistering in just a few years.

I cant comment on the new ones because the local TSC hasnt carried KK in a few years. They only carry the country line brand:mad:

If you go to the everything attachments website and look at the KK tillers and scroll over the pictures they have you see paint coming off on the tillers. There even runs in the paint on the top link brace bars?? Now you would think they would pick the BEST paint job to show on there site? When I purchase a tiller I bet I use it 3-4 times a year so that means it sits for 360 days..

I used to get upset over the KK paint, but after having several implements from them I learned to live with the poor paint to get the decent construction quality at a much lower price. When I started shopping for a tiller I thought I would get the new CountyLine branded tiller (Hawkline or Tarter) at TSC because it was powder coated. When I did a closer inspection I found it was not the same quality as a KK tiller (IMO) and the powder coating was very poor. They coated the easy areas but many seams and crevices were left bare metal which was covered with rust already. I went back to the KK as my choice now. On my current implements I have gradually cleaned, primed, and repainted most of them. Still a better choice for me rather than spending hundreds or thousands more for the other major brands.
