i got the same problem, tractor supply wants $100 each, $300 repair on a $900 mower after about 6 years use, does not seem right

Don't feel bad guys. My Bush Hog 6' finish mower has about the same crappy set up and must be greased every 4 hours or the wheels won't swivel. The crappy wheel bearing is a pipe and bushing which is severly worn after probably 60 hours. I don't have a clue what mine will cost but there won't be another Bush Hog in my barn unless they change this piss poor set up.

I made some for my king kutter mower. I put more draft in the bracket to make it not slide in turns. Made it out of 1/2 x 2 flat stock. Had the tires foam filled seems like I had flats all the time from sliding the tires sideways. Got the mower very used. Rebuilt two of the blade spindles with bearing from bearing house am still using them 5 seasons later. The one that I did not redo bearings I have replaced twice. I wil take pictures of brackets and post after weekend. big dan

shurly you jest....

the MMM on my TC is a $3000 option. a rhino or simular RFM is like $1500.... I defently think this falls under the "you get what you pay for" catagory....

can you not rebuild them yourself with some decent bearings instead of the cheep chineese chit they used?

You can probably rebuild them yourself. Once you have one apart and find the bearing number either buy locally or over the internet. Will save you a LOT of money. It's not hard to repair.

I just had to replace one of the spindles on my 6ft KK FM just this week. Tore into the old one hoping to just be able to replace the bearings, and when I got the shaft out, it was severely galled where it was riding in the failed bearing . Actually, the bearing hadn't failed yet, but it was pretty rough.

So, I had to go with a complete new spindle... with tax it was just under $87, and took all of about 10 minutes to replace. This is my mower's 7th season, and this is the first major repair I've had to do on it. Not too bad for el Cheapo I'd say!
