Tiller King Kutter Tiller size to tractor

I have a JD990 tractor. 42hp and about 6 foot wide. I am looking around for a pto driven tiller. I am looking at a King Kutter II TG 48 (inch). Is this way to small for my John Deere? Should I go one size bigger. I will be tilling my fair size garden and doing some tilling on some high spots around my small farm.

You will want to cover your tire tracks if you can, at least one of them. I have a KK2 60" tiller on my JD 3320 and it can handle it with no issues. My tiller cannot be offset to one side, but some can. With that you can buy a smaller width and cover your trail with it.

I would go with a 6' tiller.
I'm running a 6' King Kutter II on my 35 HP tractor with no problem.

Thank you very much guys, I do appreciate your input as it all makes sense. I guess I was wanting to pinch the penny a little to much. I will go for the 60" and do it right.

Sounds like you need a 72" if the tractor is 6' wide.
